Personal Trainers

Tiffany Rumel
Tiffany has worked professionally in the fitness and healthcare industry since 1991, and has been employed as the Director Personal Training at La Mariposa since January of 2000. Tiffany has extensive experience in the rehabilitation of sports related injuries, both surgical and non-surgical in nature; and has additional experience working with pre and postnatal clients.  She also has a background in running that has included marathon and half-marathon competition. Tiffany has completed numerous continuing education courses, some of which included training in the use of stability balls, resistance bands, medicine balls, dumbbells, and plyometrics. She also has experience working with clients of all ages from teenagers to seniors. Tiffany earned a Bachelor's Degree from Oregon State University and a Master's Degree from the University of Arizona; both degrees in Exercise and Sports Science with an emphasis in Athletic Training. She holds certifications as an athletic trainer through the National Athletic Trainer's Association, and as a personal Trainer through ACE.

Valerie Holley
Valerie has been in the fitness industry for 14 years. She holds national certifications by the Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA) in group fitness and personal training and the American Council on Exercise (ACE) in personal training. Her clients range in age and abilities and she also enjoys working with special populations, those who have some limitations due to arthritis, Parkinson's, or post surgery.

Kevin Nichols

Kevin is ACE certified and also State certified through the Providence Institute.  His experience as a competitive athlete has provided him with the understanding of how the body functions during exercise.  He advocates a balanced approach of strength, balance, flexibility, movement skills and endurance to create a better quality of life.  He specializes in the sports of: basketball, tennis, golf, distance running, triathlons, soccer, and football.  As humans, we perform a wide range of movement activities, such as walking, jogging, running, sprinting, jumping, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, turning, standing, starting, stopping, climbing and lunging.  Using these functional movements he will develop a program to meet your needs.

Kevin is currently a teacher at Van Horne Elementary teaching 1st and 2nd grade.

Alicia Brown

Alicia has been AFFA cergified for 5 years and is currently working on her ACE certification.  She is an avid athlete.  Her passion for fitness has led her to competing in triathlons and competitive running events.  She also enjoys weight training, kickboxing, and cooking healthy foods.

Over the past six years, Alicia has had the good fortune of working with a diverse range of clientele.  However, she really enjoys working with Pre, Current and post pregnancy women as well as clients who are energetic, enthusiastic and hard working both in and out of the gym.  She has taught a full range of group fitness formats including muscle strength, sports conditioning, interval training, core, & balance.

Alicia is energetic, fun, and encouraging.  She customizes a fitness program for each client based upon their specific needs and objectives.
